What wrong here is concept, not actually art, no-one here said its ugly because they hate how its drawn/rendered. peope hate it for what is being drawn/rendered.

thats is unlikely to be changed by better technology (well, it will get worse as we will see theese supa-dupa-cutie characters in better details. )

OK wise guy, reconcile that. The guy is just too darn cute for the burning, shocking, freezing, meat-grinding mayhem of Guild Wars. Yeah, and I didnt even touch the assassin as a class, cause that's too easy.

Get that rabbit out of here

Yeah, well, what kind of person doesn't like a sexy chic. I personally think they should add blood effects, swing the sword, and you and all your allies get bloodied, you can get scars, and other violent effects.

But I personally think it should be in GW. ESP if the devs make "Decapitate" Decapitate the target.

That would make me lol.

Anyway, we realise most people think it's ugly, and we understand the rest of the people are deluded. (J/K) And the others, well, there just arn't any more.

It's current render just looks kinda cartoony for me. Even the seers looked realistic. I mean, if I didn't get out enough, and had something that said everything in this game was real, I would have believed it. This I would not. Needs to look more real.

yes but look whats in the game, charactes no longer even resemble that, nor do the creatures even look like that, nothing to do with rendering. 2 years from now asuras could look very diffrent if anet decideds to change it based on community response. Im sure duild wars looks like it does now because of focus testing.

Yeah, how dare Anet create something completely different. We want everything the same! The same! Everything must look badass not cuteass! All our armors and weapons must be black and shiny and 10 foot long! We're too manly to have cutesy stuff in the game because it threatens our manliness! We hunt not cuddle! RRAAAARGHH!!

Alex, Gaile...whoever is working over at ANET and reads this thread...

For the love of all things holy if you won't stop releasing minis please CUSTOMIZE them! If for no reason other than the quote earlier about picking them up specifically to sell in game for 50-80k. We all know they will sell for some absurd amount at release don't even try to deny it. Essentially what you are saying is, its ok to buy a couple $5-$6 magazines use the keys to get a mini and sell it for ingame currency...whereas eBaying money is a no no. That seems sort of counter intuitive to the EULA to me as these are essentially the same thing with the addition of some sub par reading material...am I the only one who notices this?

I realize it Icy, your not alone .

Anyway, I found the source that I was looking for earlier, courtesy od google of course.

It's at http://www.theinquirer.net/default.aspx?article=37986

Also, as seen in the article, I don't think that Eye of the North will be the last thing before GW2... why would an "expansion" (not a chapter) take so long as compared to a chapter? C4 will not be forgotten!

See, this one doesn't work either. The problem is: the first time you compared a new race to three well known iconic characters. The second time, you compared a new race to three professions. If you wanted to do it right, you'd compare the new race to existing races! But at this point it's a bit of a lost cause. If you have to explain a joke, it's not funny and there is no joke. If you have to redo the joke two times.... well that's even worse.

It's funny how some people can't ever, not once, accept that some people have different tastes and opinions than themselves, especially when such opposing opinions are even slightly touching upon not appreciating even the tiniest aspect of Guild Wars/ArenaNet.

And here's my attempt to put my aversion into words:

The Asura would look absolutely fabulous sitting on a shelf in my three-year-old's bedroom. It's cute and looks very well-designed. No question about that. It does not, however, fit my perception and expectations of Guild Wars, and I'm obviously not alone in that.

Disregarding the non-fantastical elements, animals and such, is there anything else in the game you'd put on a shelve in a toddler's bedroom? I can't think of anything, and there's plenty that I would most categorically not put on such a shelve.

Will there not be a restriction on 1 code per account?

yes, because searching for cowbell, playing with the king of holloween, and dancing holiday elfs is all serious adult business. Dont even mention the candy corn monsters

I can accept that some people have different opinions, but what's getting kind of annoying is how the people that don't like it seem compelled to come back over and over constantly saying how much they hate it and some people going to the extent of saying Anet is somehow bad at what they do or how it's a copy of some creature from something else.

The people that don't have a problem with it just express that they wouldn't mind owning one and leave it at that. Why can't the rest of you be civilized for once, express the fact that you don't like it and move on already?

Yeah, our minipets should never look like a toddler's toy!! The minipets should be fierce and deadly and shiny with lots of spikes all over it....and 10 feet tall! Why the F--- would I have a pet otherwise?!? I fear for the future of this game when a guy cant even have a manly minipet to cuddle...err hunt with!!

Gwen...

Perhaps that is where she has been since presearing. Off ruling the kingdom of these things. @_@

I swear I have seen these things before almost exactly. But I can't remeber where...

This is another close one:

http://www.nickelodeon.com.au/downlo...2_1024x768.jpg

But I'm nearly certain there is a near exact duplicate from somewhere. Maybe I've repressed it.

(psst the phrase is "lo and behold")

It's a race, not a profession, and its race means nothing in reference to its magical ability. Sorry. :\
